Vice President

As Vice President for Accountability and Deployment, Barbara Goldman is part of MDRC’s corporate management team, responsible for assessing staffing needs and leading MDRC’s quality assurance and risk management program covering all of MDRC’s projects. She provides direction to staff in developing research designs, devising and implementing data collection strategies, analyzing data, and preparing reports. She also oversees several research expert units covering research technology, data management, and survey management. Goldman currently serves as senior advisor to several major national studies being conducted by MDRC, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’s Employment Retention and Advancement, Head Start CARES, and BIAS projects, and has served as project director for many of MDRC’s largest multisite random assignment studies since joining the organization in 1977. She is an author of many articles and reports on MDRC's research findings and participates in briefings for government officials and policymakers. Goldman earned a B.A. in economics from Connecticut College and a Ph.D. in economics from The American University.
